The Surelab pregnancy test is an immunochromatography-based rapid one-step test aimed at the qualitative detection of the hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (hcg) in urine. The test is for in vitro self-testing only.

Human chorionic gonadotropin (hcg) is a glycoprotein secreted by the placenta after insemination. Hcg can be detected in human urine (as well as blood or serum) at least 5-15 days after the onset of pregnancy. The level of hcg in the urine after the first missed period is generally around 100 miu/ml, and in the first three months the hcg levels rise and reach 100,000 – 200,000 miu/ml. The easy detection of hcg in urine and serum immediately after insemination and the rapidly increasing levels in the early stages of pregnancy make this hormone a reliable and good material for early diagnosis of pregnancy. The aim of this test is to detect the early development of beta hcg which is above 20 miu/ml.
